The Mar Vista Community Council is asking for candidates to run for seats on its Board of Directors.
All seats are open, and all stakeholders should consider becoming an advocate for Mar Vista by running for a seat. There are six zone director seats available, 6 at-large director seats available, and one community director seat.

Then be sure to participate on Sunday October 28, 2012to elect the next Mar Vista Community Council Board of Directors. All stakeholders 18 years or older can vote in the election and run as a candidate for the Board.
The Mar Vista Community Council was recognized with a Civic Engagement Award by the Los Angeles Board of Neighborhood Commissioners and Empower LA at the 2012 L.A. Congress of Neighborhoods on Saturday, Sept. 22 at City Hall. Empower LAis a network of 95 neighborhood councils throughout the City.
The award reflects the highest ideals of inclusiveness, transparency, nondiscrimination and independence as set forth in the city charter. A letter from Board of Neighborhood Commissioners President Paul Park said that Mar Vista “was exemplar of the goals and ideals other neighborhood councils can look to for inspiration and ideas.
