MAR VISTA CRIME ALERT ADVISORY
ATTENTION MAR VISTA
There have been a substantial number of burglaries in Mar Vista and adjacent areas recently.
Please be advised of the following.
- These crimes are being committed during the daytime hours.
- The suspect descriptions are African American males, between the ages of 17-30.
- They may have a female accompanying them.
- Keep your eyes and ears out for any suspicious vehicles or people.
Officer Drake Madison (Senior Lead Officer) from the LAPD Pacific Division has asked that if you see ANY suspicious activity regarding this issue, to contact 911 immediately.
BE SAFE and share this with your friends, area businesses, community members, school leadership and neighbors in the area.

UPDATE:
Be advised, I took (3) suspects into custody yesterday. I was at a neighborhood watch meeting and the guys walked right past the meeting. Two were on parole, one for burglary, and the other was on probation. This doesn't mean that the activity will stop, so I still need everyone to keep their eyes open for "suspicious activity" by suspects with the same descriptors. Pass the word. Thanks. I appreciate the alert but the description is less than helpful. African-American between 17 and 30 could account for a good number of people in the area. If I was one I would be afraid to walk the streets for fear of mob action. Please be more detailed in the future, height, weight, clothing, hair type. Anything to narrow our attention.
