For more than a dozen years, Grand View Fine Art Studios (GVFAS), previously Kraft Gallery, has been a low-profile hot bed of Mar Vista creativity. Founded in the late 1990's, the 8,000 square-foot complex houses 27 private studios occupied by visual artists who paint, sculpt, do collage and assemblage in a variety of media and styles.
On Grand View Boulevard across from Stock Lumber, the art of GVFAS represents the diversity that characterizes the unique creative spirit of the City of Los Angeles. In that same spirit, on Saturday, May 21, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., an Open Studios event is taking place. Over 20 artists will be in their studios to show and talk about their art with everyone who attends. The event is free to the public.
The participating artists are: Lee Hardman, Virginia Sandler, Esther Pearlman, Mary Pillot, Obi Okafor, Matt Elson, Ryan Gilden, Jackie Wiseman, Maria Ziman, Denise Otterson, Jean Montanti, Alexandra Pastorino, Joe Fitzpatrick, Trudy Montgomery, Leslie Rothstein, Brian Biedul, Colin Doherty, Terry Rosenberg, Susan Amorde, Ken Marsh and Esther Kleitman
